The parable of the good samaritan:
- A man was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho when he was attacked by robbers. They beat him, stole from him, and left him almost dead by the side of the road.
- A priest and a Levite walked by, but both chose not to help.Possibly because of religious laws that forbade them from touching someone who was “unclean.”
- Finally, a Samaritan, who was considered an enemy by the Jews because of tensions between both groups, stopped and helped the wounded man. He took him to an inn and paid for his care.
- Jesus ends the parable saying:“Go and do the same.”(Luke 10:37)
